Fun With Food
I have mentioned on several occasions that one of my passions is cooking. Here are some pictures of the most recent creations.
This is our Christmas dinner. We had ham, sweet potato casserole, Au Gratin potatoes and Green Bean Casserole. Nothing tricky, just a good old-fashioned Christmas Dinner
Dessert was a chocolate chip cheesecake, the first time I had ever made a cheesecake. I did okay on this one.
This is our New Year's eve spread. We kept it simple, thanks in part to our new deli slicer which sliced the beef tenderloin, the turkey and the cheeses. I also made a terrific Caramelized Onion dip (Hearty Boys); a tasty Dijon bacon cracker spread (Rachel Ray); and some hearty asparagus wrapped in persuttio (Rachel Ray).
I did a strawberry cheesecake for New Years. I didn't think it was as good as the first one.
Even Butkus enjoyed our dinner. He licked his bowl clean! In fact, he attacked his food with far more gusto than the Bears defense attacked Brett Favre.
