Put It on the Board, YES!: Buehrle Tosses No No

The Chicago White Sox needed a jolt and tonight they got one as veteran left hander Mark Buehrle threw a no-hitter as the White Sox took Texas 6-0.

The Rangers had only one base runner all night when Sammy Sosa coaxed a walk in the fifth inning.  Sosa was promptly picked off first base.  No one else came close all night.

The Sox scored all of their runs on homers, two solo shots from Jim Thome in the third and seventh innings and a fifth inning grand slam by Jermaine Dye.

Buehrle became the first Sox pitcher to throw a no-hitter since Wilson Alverez no-hit Baltimore in August of 1991.
