Sox Salvage Effort Was Good, Bad and Ugly

The Ozzie Guillen Salvage Company came up with at least one win this foul baseball weekend.  From today's game at the beer garden, let's break it down:

The Good

  • Nick Masset pitched his guts out and looked good doing it.
  • Jermaine Dye hit the ball well and looks like he is about to go on a tear.
  • Paul Konerko showed signs of maybe coming to life
  • A.J. Pierzynski ticked off the yuppies---again.
  • Mike MacDougal entered the game and actually didn't break anything this time
  • Look everybody!  Jim Thome!
  • The toughest decision Ozzie had to make was who he was going to listen to on the radio on the way home.

The Bad

  • The Sox started to choke away an eight run lead
  • Lots of two outs RISP situations that were resolved unsatisfactoryly
  • Joe Crede disappeared because of back spasms.  Paging Josh Fields
  • Ryan Sweeny is on a bus back to North Carolina

The Ugly

  • Kenny!  Send Andrew Sisco down tonight!
  • Memo to David Aardsma: You don't have to help the Cubs anymore.  That was last year.
