Stick A Fork In 2007

Exactly how does a team with the talent the Chicago Bears have lose to the Detroit Lions twice in the same year?  Granted, the Lions are an up and coming ball club, but still, they should be at least a year or so away from being serious.  Remember, their club President is still Matt Millian.

In any case, you can declare the Bears legally dead for 2007.  You will be watching the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs this year.  And where I sit (in Wisconsin) that's totally unacceptable (although it is helping the ratings of the sports station that I put on the air in Milwaukee.)

Why is it the Bears suck this year?  How about inconsistency at Quarterback?  Good Rex/Bad Rex, Good Brian/Bad Brian, it's all the same to me.  How about a horrible running game?  Cedric Benson couldn't break his way out of a tissue paper bag.  How about injuries?  Nathan Vasher has been out since game two, Tommie Harris and Brian (read it on Fox.com) Urlacher have been at three quarter speed all year.  Even Robbie Gould isn't as reliable as he was a year ago.  And then, there's the coaching.

Memo to Lovie Smith: If you hire an assistant who once worked for Davewood Bumstedt, you get what you paid for.  If you hire your buddy to be D-cor because you are scared Ron Rivera may actually leave someday, you get what you paid for.

With the Bears 3-5 at the break, it's playing out the string time during the second half of the season.
