Random Thoughts: Bye Week More Depressing Than Watching The Bears Play
Random thoughts while wondering why on God's earth Bill Callahan is still employed this morning:
Boy, if you are a Bear fan, the three games yesterday involving NFC North rivals must have made you soil your shorts. First, the Elderly Hillbilly leads Green Bay back from doom late in the fourth quarter. Then the Lions PLAY DEFENSE as they absolutely embarrass Denver. And finally, a ROOKIE running back runs for 292 yardsas the Vikings mug the Chargers. The Bears still have one game left with the Vikings at Minnesota) and one against the Fudge Packers (in Chicago, but hey, home field has been more of advantage for opponents this year.) It looks to me like this Bears team could go 5-11.- No matter what you may think of Randy Mossor T.O., the boys have game.
- LSU moves up to second in the BCS standings, setting up a possible showdown with Ohio State. Personally, I strongly believe that one of these two teams won't make it to New Orleans. BTW, how about those Missouri Tigers?
- Memo to Daryn Perry: Dude, i If you are going to break down the off season needs of Major League teams, why don't you tell us what teams need to do to compete, not just they have no chance. Your dismissiveness when it comes to the White Sox is insulting, unprofessional and boarders on idiocy.
- Charlie Weis is approaching a level even Jerry Faust and Bob Davie avoided. Scary stuff, kids.
- John Russell, who had a losing record in over 1,300 games as a minor league manager gets his latest minor league assignment.
- I wouldn't believe Scott Boras if he told me he was Scott Boras.
- Jimmie Johnson takes Texas leaving part owner of the #48 team and Hendricks Motor Sports teammate Jeff Gordon lying on the side of the road. Either way, Gordon stands to win.
- When stealing a police cruiser, best not broadcast on police band radio. I'm just saying.
- Pakistan is doing something we in this country should have done years ago: Arresting lawyers.
- There's a new movie being written (well, they've stopped for the moment because of the writer's strike) about Julia Child starring (gasp) Merrill Streep. Ms. Streep is much more suited to Martha Stewart than she is Julia Child. Thanks to Mike from TV Food Fan for the heads up.
