Breaking News: White Sox Aquire Another Outfielder Who Can't Hit

In an effort to totally sabotage the 2008 season long before it begins, the Chicago White Sox have acquired outfielder Carlos Quentin from the Arizona Diamondbacks for minor league first baseman Chris Carter and a bag of half eaten airline peanuts.

Quentin hit a robust .214 last season for Arizona and it is widely assumed that he was acquired to raise Jerry Owens self esteem.   Quentin's career average is .230

Quentin is pretty good with his glove and has a career fielding percentage of .988  So, it looks like he's okay after the seventh inning.

If this trade turns out like the last one made by the Sox and the Diamondbacks, look for Carter to be on the 2009 N.L. All-Star team.
