I'm Chip Ramsey a career broadcaster who has been a sports radio program director in Milwaukee and Nashville. I've covered everything from high school and college sports (including the SEC, Big Ten, MVC and OVC) to Major League Baseball, The NFL and the NHL. I have a few things to say, and when I want to say them, I say them here.

Random thoughts while wondering whatever happened to Rusty Torres:

Bears GM Jerry Angelo doesn't sound like a man who wants to fix his team. Instead, he sounds like a man at a political debate, offering no real solutions and taking little accountability for the mistakes of the past. Just be glad the Bears will always have the Lions to finish in front of.
The Golf Channel suspended Kelly Tilghman for a whole two weeks after her insensitive and inappropriate comments about Tiger Woods. Al and Jesse remain silent because there was no press conference and no one showed up with a camera. Please commit this whole sorry incident to your memory bank for the next time a middle aged white man says "nappy headed hos", which is harmless compared to saying "Tiger Woods" and "lynched" in the same sentence.
In Wisconsin they are hoisting their glasses to the Elderly Hillbilly as he most likely will come back and play next year (yeah, now that they are winning he doesn't wait until May anymore.) It's such a big story, the Governor, who probably has better things to do, had to chime in, albeit a bit prematurely. In fact, the Elderly Hillbilly is so beloved in this state, the children sing songs to him. This isn't a state anymore, it's a damned cult.

Like most of America, Pete Fuitak wonders why Pete Carroll would be interested in the Falcons. Probably since Myles brand will be reading the new book about Reggie Bush and slapping USC with some serious scholarship reductions. Always a good idea to get out of town before the bad guy shows up gunning for you.
Terry Bradshaw says he may leave Fox after his contract in 2011. Me thinks he is beginning the extension game a bit early. Either that or he wants to do Sunday night football when Madden quits.
Memo to Cub Fans: You can't stop the train. Ask Indians fans, who will most likely continue to call their ballpark Jacobs Field.
In a rare display of solid judgemanship, the Titans have been dropped from the Pacman Jones suit.
New Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez should check his tool box. He's apparently lost his Mallett.
With Joe Paterno coaching at 81 and Bobby Bowden working at 78 and others like Howard Schnellenberger still going strong, it's strange Purdue is retiring Joe Tiller after next year. Do they not remember the Fred Akers era?
