Random Thoughts: Big Wheels Rollin' Edition
Random thoughts while wondering whatever happened to Billy Jo Robidoux:
Sox GM Kenny Williams is still trying to improve the Sox bullpen. MLB Trade Rumors.com reports the Sox have signed Octavio Dotel to a deal. Never mind his arm is held together by chewing gum and bailing wire. I've said it before, the best way to improve the Sox pen is to give Mike MacUseless a Greyhound ticket to anywhere but Chicago. Does Greyhound have bus routes to Japan?- The Sox also set Joe Crede up to trade him. If he looks good in spring training he will be wearing a different uniform come opening day.
- It's official:Jay Mariotti has finally lost his mind.
- It appears Jerry Seinfeld is a Giants fan.
- Baseball decides it wants to remain screwed up. That's why Bud Selig got an extension. I've never liked the idea of Bud as commish since he was an owner at one point. Baseball desperately needs someone with a spine running it, but of course, that won't ever happen.
- Why is it these stories come out right before big, important games? Lawyers. Actually, they are doing the Patriots a favor not having to talk about 17-0. Thus, their distraction may help, not hurt the Patriots.
- Memo to Herm Edwards: Get your ass in gear.
- Isn't it interesting that the first guy to get busted by the feds for lying about BALCO is a football player?
- Sad news: Former Pittsburgh Steeler Ernie Holmes was killed in a car accident. Holmes was 59. He was on the Steel Curtain line with Dwight White, L.C. Greenwood and Mean Joe Greene. Boy, they were fun to watch. Unless you were Kenny Stabler. Or Roger Staubach.
- Bruce Pearl better hope his team does well in the NCAA tournament or he will take a lot of heat for doing this. Oh wait. He's a basketball coach in the SEC at a school other than Kentucky. Never mind.
- Beware the Dave Wannstedt curse, Tommy!
- So far, the Toyotas have looked good in NASCAR testing. You wonder how sane Tony Stewart is going to remain if Toyota has a second year as bad as it's first.
- Golf Week makes a tangent yet over the top point regarding Kelly Tilghman's remarks about Tiger Woods. (Notice I didn't say racist remarks. That would make me a liberal, mainstream journalist and I am far from that, thank you very much.) The editors were fired this afternoon, yet Kelly still has a gig. Don Imus unavailable for comment as are Al and Jesse.
- Former Georgia, USFL and NFL star Hershel Walker claims he has multiple personality disorder. It sounds like he's about ready to file a Cybil suit.
- Didn't we stop doing silly things like this about the time Joseph Welch told Senator Joe McCarthy to go screw himself?
- Humor from the Big Lead. And Rumors and Rants. And Serious Sports News.
- In today's story of love and loss, Bad Kermit meets his adversary and sees a whole new world.
