Jay Glazer reports on Foxsports.com that the Elderly Hillbilly is about to mount his tractor and drive off into the sunset.

I am not buying it.

Favre had one of his better years last year, his team is back in contention and he has a few miles left in his tank.  Add to that the guy probably doesn't want the last thought of him being picked off against the Giants in the NFC title game.  Remember those images of Willie Mays in the 1973 Mets.  I'm sure Willie would like to forget them.

My take is Glazer is out in front of something that is not, repeat not going to happen.  I think Favre comes back for at least one more if not too more season and this is just like the 2006 off season where he held the Paackers hostage until June.

Meanwhile, here is Cheeseland, there is weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth as this story leaks out.  In fact, one of our sales guys is in the corner sucking his thumb right now.

Even if it is true, the Bears have their own problems and that blunts the impact of such a joyous occasion if it's true (which I bet it Isn't.)
