Hoop Dreams
A couple of quick Basketball thoughts (please mark the date and time since we do not do a whole lot of basketball here. Why? It bores us.)
- Congratulations to Dan Dackich who if he doesn't go 6-0 in the
NCAA tournament has lost any chance of getting the head coaches job at
Indiana. That's really too bad.
- Michael Flowers is still pissed he didn't get defensive player of the year award. You wouldn't think he lost it based on his last two games.
- Illinois can feel as good as they want about the last three days but it still won't do anything for them unless they pull off the upset tomorrow. After three straight games. I have to think Wisconsin will have an easy time with them.
- Ohio State is not going to the tournament. Neither is Va. Tech.
- Duke had a chance at a one seed. Now they may be a two or lower.
- Vanderbilt continues to flounder in the SEC tournament.
- The SEC should have halted the Alabama-Mississippi State game at the point when they took everyone off the floor and replayed the overtime today. Asking those kids to play knowing they were in danger was irresponsible.
- This may not be a big year for mid-majors in the big dance.
- I don't think the Big East will get eight teams in, which is bad for you, Villanova.
- I always feel bad for those mid-major schools from the smaller conferences that get upset in the conference tournament and don't make it to the big dance because their conference is putrid and they only get one draw. Ask Robert Morris or VCU about this.
- I'm writing now instead of watching the Pac 10 final largely because I still need to install my Gus Johnson V-chip before the tournament starts. It mutes the sound every time Gus speaks. This way, no headache.
