Ramsey's Fearless Forecast-AL Central Edition
Tigers: Loaded from stem to stern. The only thing that will stop these guys are injuries and possibly a weak bullpen. But they can shore that up at the break, so no worries.
Indians: I have a sneaking suspicion that Cleveland is a bit over rated this year. I think you might have some regression, especially with the hitters. Outside of the big fella, I'm not that enamored with their starters. There are also questions if their bullpen can compete at an elite level.
Twins: Ron Gardenhire can do more with nothing than any manager in the game. He'll have to this year. He'll have to have big years from his established guys like Joe Mauer and Michael Cuddyer and good years out of his young starters like Boof Bonzer and the surgically repaired Fransisco Liriano.
White Sox: I've decided against drinking the kool-aid this year. Lots of age in the hitters (which means injuries) and lots of youth with the pitchers (which means blow out losses.) Signing Scott Linebrink and Octavio Dotel as the bridge to Bobby Jenks is making it the Bridge Over the River Kwai with Ozzie Guillen played by William Holden. If you don't know the movie, at the end, Bill dynamites the bridge. More on the White Sox tomorrow.
Royals: New manager, same results. Maybe a few games better, but still a 72-75 win team tops. Outside of Alex Gordon and Joey Gathright, there is nothing compelling about this team.
