Sox Put One On The Board, Move On To Angry Tigers
Give props to Chicago White Sox third baseman Joe Crede. Out on a phantom tag on Monday and clearly safe on a bang bang play at first base Wednesday, Crede figured the only way the umpires couldn't screw him is for him to put the ball out of the park. Fortunately for Joe, it was nowhere near a foul pole and the Sox put their first win on the board with a 2-1 triumph over the Indians.
John Danks, who was also good last April, pitched into the seventh only to lose the victory to Octavio Dotel who earned the win by getting the final out of the inning. Scott Linebrink pitched a 1-2-3 eighth and Bobby Jenks earned his first save with a perfect ninth. Many Sox fans had to be treated for hyperventilation after actually witnessing the bullpen doing it's job for the first time since 2005 (or so it seemed.)
Carlos Quentin started in left and Nick Swisher in center with Brian Anderson making a cameo appearance as a pinch runner and defensive replacement with no at bats. Anderson was granted a stay of execution yesterday as the Sox announced that Jerry Owens would be rehabbing in the minors prior to coming back.
The Sox now head to Detroit where they face an angry and embarrassed Tigers team who were swept in their season opening series against Kansas City. AARP member Jose Contreras toes the slab for the Sox.

Lightning Round
- Three games and three wins into the season, the media begins to embrace the Kansas City Royals.
- Sphincters in Wisconsin are tight as erroneous rumors fly that Brett Favre, who retired last month, wants to come out of retirement to play for some other team. This was reported by the LA Times, the same paper that was fleeced by fake reports that P. Diddy was involved in Tupoc's death.
- The Milwaukee Brewers have signed an extended agreement with WTMJ radio. Do I get to say "I told you so" now? Sometimes being a realist may not be in your best interests, but at least if you understand that the dealer is playing with a rigged deck, you sleep better at night.
