Random Thoughts: Is UFH Sox Secret Weapon?
Random thoughts while wondering whatever happened to Billy Koch:
- Could it be the Sox pitching success is tied to unruly facial hair?
- It's too bad there aren't two weeks left in the hockey regular season. And one additional comment: Considering the post season turmoil about the ownership situation and the threats to move and new owners taking over at the very last minute, Nashville Predators coach Barry Trotz proves once again that he could be the most under rated coach in the NHL.
- Look, Mommy! It's a snake talking with another snake!
- Isn't it always the truth that once a team gets to be a little successful, they start to crack down on the people that were with them when they weren't having good years. Now that the Brewers are in line to possibly have a winning record and compete for the playoffs, the fun is over in Milwaukee.
- So much for the Royals running the table. Whew, that was close.
- Ironic how Joe Girardi gets sick for a game against the Devil Rays.
- Bad news for the White Sox future: Carl Crawford might actually be happy in Tampa.
- Moises Alou finally admits that he probably couldn't have caught the ball that was intercepted by Steve Bartman in the 2003 playoffs.
I've got news for you, Moises. The only guy that probably could have
then or now is Michael Jordan. I've never been convinced that Alou,
already in his thirties on bad knees, could have gotten up that high,
extended his glove over the wall and held on to the ball on the way
down. Besides, if Alex Gonzalez doesn't boot the sure double play
ball, this whole conversation is moot. Or, if the Cubs won game
seven. Why is it Cub fans always try to blame someone else like fans,
goats, black cats, day baseball, etc.?
- The NCAA is taking itself and it's image way too seriously.
- KSK comes through again with yet another brilliant piece of satire: Peter King's tribute to his fallen love. Of course, here in Wisconsin, this has become sacred religious text.
- If you haven't seen this yet, it will scare the crap out of you. The fact that Michael McDowell was able to walk away from this incredible crash speaks volumes as to how far NASCAR has come since February of 2001. You are not a cynic to believe that it took Dale Earnhardt Senior's death to serve as a wake up call for NASCAR.
