Suit and Fan Should be Tossed Out of Court
Are you kidding me? A Naperville oral surgeon is suing the Bulls because he allegedly injured his arm getting a high
five from Benny the Bull.
The story in the Trib says that the doc wanted to get a high five from Benny, who was coming down the aisle and tripped and steadied himself on the doc, yanking the doc's arm forward, causing alleged damage.
The Doc is suing for medical bills and loss of income.
Want to know what I think? (Of course you do, you are reading this slop.)
The part I find interesting is, the doc, stayed for the rest of the game and THEN went and got medical treatment. How many times do you think this guy has scolded a patient saying "if you had come to me immediately, some of this work could have been avoided." By not seeking IMMEDIATE medical attention, the good doc could have aggravated his injury to the point where it is now which may or may have not been the result of Benny the Bull.
If you go to a ballgame of any of kind, there is a liability waiver that you accept when you enter the arena. It says that the management is not responsible for injuries resulting from whatever happens at the arena. This was, if it was at all, a freak accident. If you offer your hand to a mascot for a high five, you are doing it at your own risk.
It's hard for me to feel sorry for this guy. He's an oral surgeon from Naperville for crying out loud. They don't let poor people into Naperville. They send them to Woodridge, Romeoville and Downer's Grove. It's not like he doesn't have medical insurance. He's probably more upset he can't play golf until June.
Tort reform anyone?
