Random Shots: Can't We All Just get Along? Edition
Random shots while wondering whatever happened to Jim Morrison:
The big news last night in the Sox 7-6 come from way behind win over Kansas City was not the win, but the issues between Orlando Cabrera and Jermaine Dye. Can we please do this without becoming the Bronx Zoo? (Sox Machine)- D.J. Carrasco is the latest former Royal to be promoted to the big club, meaning more time for Adam Russell while Bobby Jenks is on the DL. It is interesting that this former Royal got promoted and not the other one. I think if anyone would take him in a trade for a used jock and a bag of baseballs, Kenny would make that move in a heartbeat.
- There is no doubt the Cubs made a big splash in getting Rich Harden from the A's. Since Cub fans don't follow the big league, they are probably unfamiliar with Harden's work. When he's healthy, he's pretty good. When he's healthy. Just be glad Dusty Baker isn't running the Cubs any more. Cub and Sox fans should also curb their enthusiasm as there are a lot of games left to be played. (Tremendous Upside Potential)
- Can we please get past 2005 and if this White Sox team is better than the other one, yadda, yadda. The only way they will be better than 2005 is if they win the whole deal again. With no playoff losses. Other than that, it's just people looking for story angles on a slow news day.
- An interesting take on the Brewers acquisition of C.C. Sabathia. (Hire Jim Essian!)
- This whole Brett Favre thing is taking on a silly life of its' own. Now the Packers President says it's a delicate situation. Thank you, Captain Obvious. He's basically saying publically that if Favre were wanting to come back, he would not necessarily be welcomed. Surprisingly, many Packer fans I've talked to feel the same way.
- Here are some odds on what may happen to Favre. (Out of Left Field)
- To a city that has grudgingly welcomed Joey Belle, Dennis Rodman and Jim Edmonds, how much worse could it be if a certain Elderly Hillbilly came to work for the Bears?
- What did Favre text to Packers GM Ted Thompson? Kissing Suzy Kolber is there. (Kissing Suzy Kolber)
- My biggest question about Tony Stewart leaving JGR to run his own team is who will protect Tony when he does something stupid? Joe Gibbs always stood behind Tony no matter what and now Stewart is leaving to try things as a driver owner. This should be interesting. The next question is who gets to drive the Home Depot 20?.
- Michigan needs it's coach to be focused on football, not on blackmail. That's why they were willing to ante up the cash to end the issues with WVU. That loud whirring sound you hear is Bo, spinning in his grave.
- Walter O'Malley should get a statue in LA. They should put it next to one of Robert Irsay, George Shinn, Art Modell and Clay Bennett.
- Hey, if it doesn't work out with the Steelers, please feel free to call Mama McCaskey.
- How will A-Rod's Material needs translate to the playing field? (Bugs & Cranks)
- Oh my gosh! Gary Bettman actually did something about something. There's a first time for everything, i guess.
- Kansas City TE Tony Gonzalez recently did something he never did when Marty Schottenhiemer was his coach.
