Probably buried in the headlines behind "Cubs Are on Mission From God" and "Sox Land Aging Slugger" will be this little item.  The Blackhawks have hired Scotty Bowman to work in their front office. 

This is like having Don Zimmer as your bench coach.

It is yet another terrific move on the part of the Hawks.  Bowman's primary function will be to act as Roland Hemond to Dale Tallon's Kenny Williams.

Bob Pulford was busy scrubbing toilets at the Wirtz Corporation headquarters and could not be reached for comment.

I could care less that Bowman used to coach the Red Wings.  Get over that quickly.  His credentials are impeccable. And he's one cool dude.
