Meet the Staff

I'm Chip Ramsey a career broadcaster who has been a sports radio program director in Milwaukee and Nashville. I've covered everything from high school and college sports (including the SEC, Big Ten, MVC and OVC) to Major League Baseball, The NFL and the NHL. I have a few things to say, and when I want to say them, I say them here.

Random shots while wondering whatever happened to Jay Loviglio:

Junior's White Sox debut was a success. What made it successful is that both his RBIs occurred when two were out, which is something this team has had trouble with. If he can keep that up, I may have to apologize to Kenny. The Sox also got a solid effort out of Javy Vazquez ('bout time.) The Sox meet the Royals this afternoon. I hope you enjoy watching the game while I'm being force fed minor league baseball.
Here's more reaction to the Junior Trade: Junior is happy to be with a team that is fighting for the pennant and hopes to contribute any way he can. Sounds like Ron Shelton wrote that, doesn't it?

Jim is still trying to get used to Junior in silver and black. BTW, Jim. Pudge Fisk in a Sox uniform was weird at first, but, in my opinion, I think the weirdest besides Joey Belle had to be Tom Seaver. That was just strange, especially since he won his 300th game while with the Sox. (Sox Machine)

In the words of the Little River Band, Hang on, Help is on the Way. I guess if you wanted to make excuses for the Sox losing three of four in Minnesota, you could say they were without their starting third baseman, one of their starters and their primary setup man. On the other hand, you could do what I do and just stay they stunk in the dome. You make the call.
Leave it to Brooks Boyer to take tragedy and turn it into a marketing opportunity.
Here's proof that Twinkies should be seen but not heard. Better yet, maybe this will come back to bite them in late September, which is the next time these two teams play.
Buried deep in this story about Manny Ramirez coming to the Dodgers is that his new number (99) was chosen by his agent and not by him.
Looks like the Ligues have changed teams and are now Cub fans.
