White Sox Hit Rock Bottom, Lose To Michael Bolton
The Chicago White Sox, losers of five out of their last eight games, last night hit rock bottom losing to the Boston Red Sox and their rookie starting pitcher, 90's pop star Michael Bolton. Oh, it Bow-Den. Sorry about that. It still doesn't change anything, but at least it's not quite as embarrassing.I don't think it would have mattered last night if the Red Sox would have had Michael Bolton on the mound or Vanilla Ice or whomever. The Red Sox rocked Sox starter Mark Buehrle in the first inning and as they say in radio "and the hits just keep on coming."
The only thing that kept the night from being a total disaster was Joe Nathan's surprising inability to execute defensively.
I'm not going to worry until the Twinkies are up by two games with one left to play. However, if you use this series as a gage as to how the White Sox are compared to the big boys, you will sadly realize that barring any A.J. inspired miracles, this team, should it make the playoffs, will most likely go three and done in the first round.
It's the finale this afternoon from Fenway.
Lightning Round
- As predicted in this column, John Danks is being pushed back a day because of a tired arm. If you are weeping and wailing and gnashing your teeth about that, don't be, because it happens to a lot of pitchers this time of year. even crazy ones.. BTW, someone needs to tell White Sox.com that Danks is a LEFTY.
