No Show Joe

With Carlos Quentin returning to the team (for light workouts and to support his teammates) I started thinking that I hadn't heard a whole lot about Joe Crede lately.  Here's what I discovered:

3B Joe Crede was expected to report back to the team on Wednesday, and let them know how his scheduled second opinion on his back problems went. But as of Friday, Crede has not contacted the team, and they have no idea if he is still in Dallas or en route. There was talk he—like OF Carlos Quentin—would rejoin the team in Kansas City on Friday, but he was a no-show. “Crede… nothing at all,” Guillen said. “No Crede for the rest of the season. That’s my opinion.”

What's interesting to me is that here are the Sox marching toward a divisional title and Crede is nowhere to be found.  If he doesn't materialize, I would only vote him a limited share of the playoff money.

In fairness to Crede, this could be being orchestrated by his agent, Scott Boras.  It's really sad to see how Crede, once a beloved member of the team, has had his career mishandled the last two years.  All for a payday which may never come thanks to his continuous back problems.
