I Know What You're Thinking (Beacuse I Read It)
Here are some other thoughts on the White Sox-Tampa series by far deeper thinkers:
A couple of quick housekeeping items:
- David Chalk is becoming the Landon Evanston in my life. Landon is the Bugs & Cranks writer for the Twins and drove me nuts the last couple of weeks with some of his stuff. David covers the Rays and is proving equally annoying. First, he quotes a player who predicts the Rays will win the big trophy, the same player who predicted that last year (for a team that got swept in three games by Arizona.) He also ranks the White Sox as the worst team in the playoffs (he obviously hasn't watched any Brewer games this year.)
- The ultimate doubter, The Cheat, approaches the playoffs with his glass half full. (South Side Sox)
- Rickhouse attacks the nuts and bolts of the series with his typical enthusiasm (Tremendous Upside Potential)
- Andrew is so geeked, he's hearing voices (35th Street Review)
- Jim looks back on a hell of a ride so far. (Sox Machine)
A couple of quick housekeeping items:
- Baseball loses another great voice.
- It looks like Superman isn't ready to fly just yet. I don't know about you, but I doubt we'll see him at all in the post season. He'd be so far off stride if he did play he would be no help at all.
- Troy Percival won't be in uni for the Rays in the ALDS. But my favorite non-White Sox player will be.
- I used to think Jayson Stark was a pretty sharp guy. Obviously, I was mistaken.
- MLB attendance was actually down this year. Look for the owners to do something silly to try and fix it. Hey, I know. How about lower ticket prices?
