As They Say In Chicago, Vote Early, Vote Often and Being Dead is No Excuse

It's election day in America and we at Chip Shots want to encourage you, the red blooded American to get out and cast your vote for the candidate of your choice.

We don't care if it's McCain or Obama (because we don't endorse either of them) but it's not acceptable for you to bitch about the direction this country is headed if you aren't part of the process.

In the beginning, the founding fathers were concerned that the average American was incapable of voting, which is how they came up with the idea of the electoral college.  It's not the candidate who gets the most popular vote, but the one who wins the bigger states.  If you live in Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, Texas or anyone of a number of states with large electoral vote numbers, you need to vote today.

We at Chip Shots believe that voting for a third party candidate is not throwing your vote away.  If you believe that Bob Barr or Ralph Nader would make a better president that McCain or Obama, by all means pull the lever for them.  It is, after all, your vote.  And voting for a third party candidate sends a message that we need a legitimate third option in this country (which we do) and that you are dissatisfied with the two choices you have been presented.

You may think we're nuts, but at one point there was only McDonald's and Burger King.  Then one day, some guy named Dave Thomas came along and invented Wendy's, giving us a whole new concept and a much better product.

In any case, please vote and let your voice be heard.  It will be the only time in the next four years the government will be listening.
