In some other coaching news:
- It looks like Dabo Swinney has won the permanent job at Clemson. The strategy may be that Dabo is a low cost alternative to say, Phil Fulmer, while the university continues to pay off Tommy Bowden. In a couple of years with losses recouped, they can launch Dabo and hire a bigger name if Dabo can't cut the mustard.
- Chicago Tribune columnist Rick Morrissey calls for the overthrow of Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis
- Embattled Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville's strategy is to whistle past the grave yard.
- Tis the season for assistants to get thrown under the bus. Generally, when you see this happen, it's the signal that the head coach has been given one more season to turn it around or else.
- Mark Snyder dodges a bullet at Marshall.
- That high flying Mizzou offense is coming to Wyoming.
