Butkus D. Dogg's Friday Fearless Forecast Week 18

I was 2-3 last week and looking at the bowl games so far, I may make it to that Korean restaurant yet.

I hope you had a nice holiday yesterday.  The fat dog shorted out the tree when he used it as a bathroom.  Other than that, it was okay.  Santa didn't leave much.  Of course, share your Christmas ham with me and I'm happy.  Say what you want about the bald guy, but he sure knows how to cook a ham.

Let's end the regular season on a high note.

Five pro, straight up.

  • Detroit vs. Green Bay-The Lions have a date with destiny.  If they do beat the Packers, the entire state of Wisconsin will go over to Ted Thompson's house for a bonfire. Take Green Bay
  • Chicago vs. Houston-The Bears are close to being a playoff team even though most of the time they haven't played like it.  On paper, this game seems easy, one team motivated to make the playoffs, the other one ready to set their tee times.  Not so fast my friend.  Houston is 5-2 in the dome this year and 7-1 in December at home under Gary Kubiak.  Sorry Bear fans, but there's no place like dome for the holidays.  Take Houston.
  • NY Giants vs. Minnesota-A Viking win gets them in the playoffs.  The question is how hard will the Giants play and how many of their starters will play more than a quarter.  To the Vikings, this is the season on the line.  To the Giants, it's an exhibition game.  Take Minnesota.
  • Tennessee vs. Indianapolis-This is a meaningless game between two teams who are in the playoffs and are already slotted. I still think Tennessee wants to send a message, but then again, Indy needs more tuning up before the playoffs.  Take Indy.
  • Dallas vs. Philly-This game has a wide variety of possibilities. If Dallas wins, they are in the playoffs no questions asked and everything that has happened during the regular season is a wash.  For Philly, that tie may come back to haunt them, but a win over Dallas and a little help gets the Eagles in. Overall, I think Dallas has too many weapons and if Wade Phillips can keep his club focused at all, the Boys should be okay.  Take Dallas.
