Bowl Movements
Some observations from yesterday's bowls:
Outback Bowl: Iowa takes it to an underwhelming South Carolina team that had more turnovers than the Pillsbury dough boy. The down side for Iowa is they have now lost thier top running back and their coach may not be too far behind. This game may be the Big Ten's only bowl win this year. in fact, it will be.
Citrus Capital One Bowl: No surprise here either as Matthew Stafford magically appeared in the second half and rode roughshod over Michigan State. Knowshon Moreno clearly won the matchup with Javon Ringer.
Gator Bowl: Bo Pelini's team overcomes an 11 point deficit and wins over Clemson. Nebraska won their last four games of the year and one gets the feeling Bo will return the Huskers to prominence the same way Bob Stoops rebuilt Oklahoma. Just what the world needed: Another big time Big 12 team.
Rose Bowl: In a surprise to no one, USC totally dominated Penn State. The big win by USC just goes to prove how fragile the BCS really is. If the Trojans would have beaten Oregon State, they'd be playing for the big trophy. Instead, they have to be satisfied with wailing the tar out of an old man.
Orange Bowl: If two trees play in an orange grove and nobody cares, do they make a sound. I guess Va. Tech did.
Liberty Bowl: Kentucky and East Carolina. I would rather watch Grey's Anatomy, Oprah, Dr. Phil and General Hospital on a continuous loop for a week then watch this useless and unnecessary bowl game. The Liberty bowl is a matchup of the number 7 or 8 SEC team and somebody from C-USA. It don't get much more putrid than that. Okay, the Weed Whacker Bowl, The Motor City Bowl and the Helicopter Bowl. Can't we just combine these four into one big bad bowl game.
Sugar Bowl: The only thing that stops Bama is if John Parker-Wilson has an off night. It's doubtful that even he could be that off. Bama has more speed than Utah has seen all year and the Ute's high octane offense will ground to a total halt while Bama's offensive line pushed their defense around like rag dolls. It will be a big night for Glen Coffey and Mark Ingram and one of them will pop a long one at least once tonight.

Today's Games:
Cotton Bowl: You know Mike Leach, Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree don't want to be here. They should have been in a BCS bowl (Alabama vs. Texas Tech would have been far more interesting. Utah could have played in the Fiesta Bowl and Ohio State could have played in a non-BCS bowl.) In any case, by the time this one is over, the Ole Miss players will be treated for severe neck strain from watching Texas Tech run up and down the field.Liberty Bowl: Kentucky and East Carolina.
