Tide Rolled By a Couple of Utes
Nobody saw this one coming. Utah ran over, under and through Alabama tonight for a 31-17 win in the Sugar Bowl.
The Utes scored on their first three possessions and never looked back as the Crimson Tide could do little if anything to stop them.
Defensively, Utah was a juggernaut led by Stevenson Sylvester, who must have thought Alabama quarterback John Parker-Wilson was Tweety Bird, leading the Utah defense to eight sacks.
If I had a nickel for every missed tackle by Alabama in this game, I'd be able to retire or at least pay off my house.
Alabama's lines, both offensive and defensive were dominated by Utah. Make no mistake, this was a pistol whipping.
Alabama scored only on offensive touchdown and one on special teams. They got as close as four points, but that was it.
On a day where Ole Miss embarrassed Texas Tech, this was a curious defeat. Alabama becomes only the second SEC team to lose a bowl game this season joining South Carolina for that dubious distinction.
