White Sox Show Off Youngsters in Tucson

Maybe the White Sox should have stayed in Tucson.  They sure played like it yesterday, scoring their first exhibition win of the Cactus League season, a 4-1 win over the Colorado Rockies.

The Sox banged out twelve hits in the win, including two each from Brent Lillibridge and former D-Back Justin Kroger (don't get too excited, he wears number 74 and not for any other reason then he's a non-roster guy.)  The Sox also got a three for three effort from catcher Corky Miller, who may move up the charts as A.J. Pierzynski's potential backup.

Highlights included the first spring hit for the Cuban Sandwich and some solid pitching from Jack Egbert, D.J. Corrasco, Lance Broadway and Johny Nunez.  Starter Pink Gavin Floyd gave up a run and a couple of hits in his two innings, but I'm sure he's working on spotting specific pitches or sharpening his repertoire. No worries.

The Sox got some timely hitting from the new Juan Uribe, Wilson Betemit , who had a double and an RBI.  DeWayne Wise also got a hit and scored a run as did Brian Anderson.

The Sox left nine men on and committed no errors.  They return to their former spring home Tucson Electric Park for a game against Arizona this afternoon.
