White Sox Need To Dance With Who They Brung

Gregor maintains that Dewayne Wise and Jerry Owens can't get the job done and that the Sox would be better served to scour the waiver wires or dangle players to find an established player. Gregor even suggested Kenny Lofton, who has been out of work for awhile.
I disagree.
While I am the first to say I would do an Irish jig when and if Owens is shown the door by the White Sox organization, I still believe that a Dewayne Wise/Brian Anderson platoon will work for now. Sure, you may have to move Chris Getz to the leadoff spot, but how many times do you lead off a game anyway? I'm just not in favor of trading a Jack Egbert or a Lance Broadway for a new body to play center (unless, of course, his name is Carl "The Answer" Crawford.)
I also think given the dire forecast for next year from the Sox marketing department, any additional payroll at this time would not get approved. Let's face it: The Sox rely a lot on walk up, game of day sales. If the butts fill the seats, there will be an opportunity in June to acquire someone, provided the Sox are in the hunt. But no one, including Sox officials, is sure what kind of affect this economy will have on sales and to spend money you don't have on something you can probably live without is just the kind of thing that got us in this leaky economic boat in the first place.
I say, save the money, and see where the platoon takes you.
