Send In The Clowns: Congress Investigates BCS

Despite all the problems this country has right now, your United States Congress has launched a probe into the BCS.
One of the primaries leading the charge is Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah who released a statement saying the the BCS system "has proven itself to be inadequate, not only for those of us who are fans of college football, but for anyone who believes that competition and fair play should have a role in collegiate sports."
The problem is, Senator, the NCAA is a private organization made of up member institutions. Therefore, you have no jurisdiction, period.
Besides, don't you have something else to do like reorganize the financial system or rid our borders of drug dealers and undocumented aliens?
I cannot for the life of me figure out why these people are allowed to grandstand like they do. The members who are beating the drum the loudest are from Utah and Texas, two places where they thought that maybe a playoff system would have helped them.
How winning a championship in college football even mildly compares to solving 8% unemployment, a dead economy and drug traffic is beyond my comprehension.
Please, votes these boys out. They obviously have no priorities.
