White Sox Impressed With MacDougal. World Coming To End Soon

The headline is enough to make you wretch
: MacDougal impresses White Sox coaches.  With another decent inning yesterday, can it be that Mike MacDougal might make the White Sox 25 man roster?  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

MacUseless is expected to be paid over two million dollars this year whether he pitches at Charlotte or not.  He's not on the Sox 40 man roster, so some deserving soul will have to get bumped for him to make the club.  Perhaps, in a swap of what, at this time, might be the lesser of two evils, MacUseless could take over Jerry Owens spot if Owens is waived.

I am not a fan of Mike MacUseless.  Not since Bryan Ward or the great Tanyon Sturtze has their been a greater walking disaster coming out of the Sox bullpen.  The guy is a bucket of gasoline on a raging fire.  And he's one or two roster moves away from being back.

Hopefully, the glowing report by Phil Rogers is part of a propaganda effort to ship MacUseless somewhere else.  There has to be someone out there that could use him.  Just not the White Sox.  Please.

Lightning Round

  • John Danks looked sharp yesterday against Arizona.  He and Pink Gavin Floyd look ready to start the season.
  • Today is judgment day for both Bartolo Colon and Jose Contreras as they will pitch in the Sox game against the Angels.  My gut tells me Contreras will make it and Colon is about a month away.
  • Now that Brett Gardner will be the starting centerfielder for the Yankees, can the Sox PLEASE see if Melky Cabrera is available? He's got everything the Sox need in center.  Yeah, yeah, I know, Ozzie and Kenny like what they have, but this guy could actually help.  Perhaps a package of spare parts (MacUseless and Owens, perhaps) and a slightly scuffed bag of baseballs could make this man's small dream a reality.
  • Kudos to John Renneke of Bugs and Cranks.  The site is undergoing a big relaunch and John, who covers the Sox, will be leaving.  I've enjoyed John's creativity over the time I've read his blog entries and he'll be missed.
