What Me Worry? White Sox Fans Remove Fingers From Panic Button

I was on the road a bit over the weekend and got to hear a lot of White Sox radio.  I've been telling you since Thursday that having a tight sphincter after four games was silly and a waste of mental energy.  But you don't always listen to me (which, quite frankly is your loss.).

Saturday, during the pre-game show there were fans calling up who were outraged that the White Sox honored Joe Crede with a short video tribute.  Some were screaming about Dewayne Wise, others began beating the annual Greg Walker drum.  Some wanted Brian Anderson installed in center field on a permanent basis, some wanted Gordon Beckham called up and installed in center and others wanted Brett Lillibridge to take over in center.  Some even wanted to move Alexi Ramirez to center and Beckham to short.  A couple even wanted the Sox to consider firing Ozzie Guillen.

Aren't you people ashamed of yourselves now?

After six games, the Sox are 3-3.  Okay, 5-1 would be better, but 3-3 isn't bad when you consider Cleveland is 1-5.  The Sox got big hits Saturday and Sunday and sent the Twins away with two losses, outscoring them 14-1.  What more could you ask for?

Obviously, the slow start bothered the fans a lot more than the players.  Josh Fields didn't take offense the Sox honored Joe Crede.  Dewayne Wise forgot about the boos and focused, getting some key hits and laying down a successful sac bunt yesterday.  The defense played well.  The pitching on Saturday and Sunday was outstanding, so rumors of Mark Buehrle's demise were unfounded.

It doesn't take Harvey Cushing to figure out that it takes more than a handful of games to determine how a season is going to go.  And yet Sox fans began acting like Cub fans after a mere four games for no apparent reason other than a couple of unforeseen losses.  I'm sure your passion and interest are appreciated, but come on, really.  Give me a break.  If you can determine an entire baseball season in four games, you and I need to go to Vegas together.

The Sox leave town with a two game winning streak, some renewed confidence in their bats and even positvie proof that signing Bartolo Colon wasn't such a bad idea after all.  Questions?
