Quick Shots: Pods, Getz Key White Sox Win
- Yeah, I know, Scott Podsednik isn't the answer in center field. But if he continues to contribute like last night, does it matter if he is or isn't? Podsednik and Chris Getz keyed a Sox game winning rally last night and that's all that matters. At least to me. We'll see how this progresses when the adrenaline wears off. Get 'em on, get 'em over, get 'em in and just win, baby!
- Tonight, it's a reunion of another sort. It's too bad that John Danks isn't scheduled for the White Sox. That would make it even more interesting.
- Personally, if Scotty Pods can help this team, what's all the complaining about? (South Side Sox)
- Vikings coach Brad Childress says they will in deed have internal discussions about quarterback Brett Favre. Even the Elderly Hillbilly's former teammates won't be fooled again. (Pro Football Talk)
- Don't look now, but the Twinkies cavalry has arrived. And he's not taking a whole lot of time to get it together, either.
- Eric Mangini is good at this spin thing. Why, then, can't the media simply just walk away, because there obviously is nothing to see here. (Pro Football Talk)
- Here's a dude that could use some serious time with Dr. Phil (Pro Football Talk)
- Texas Rep. Joe Barton (R-Grandstand) blasted the BCS as "communism, during congressional hearings. Barton also said "communism can't be fixed." Gee, Congressman, I think a whole lot of people in Eastern Europe may disagree with that opinion. Now, while you are busy wasting taxpayer time and money, people are dropping dead from H1N1. What have you done about that, Congressman? Oh, I see, you are far more interested in football then you are a disease that has it's roots in your state. Anybody see a little Joe McCarthy in this guy, Barton? You just go on fiddling Congressman while Rome burns around you. If Joe Barton is your congressional representative, PLEASE vote his sorry ass out of office in 2010.
- Jason Whitlock's appointment as the "Racial Apology Czar" makes absolute sense to me. Whitlock gets how over sensitive some people are, especially when there was no intent, like in the Matt Vasgersian flap earlier this week. And then, the incident is compounded by an apology at gunpoint, prompted by fear from suit wearing executives who are worried about either sponsorships or negative publicity. In my opinion, Vasgersian made a funny that went nowhere, period, end of non-story. (The Big Lead)
- . I love to read stuff like this. And, especially this. But not this.
