It's Raining Doubles
Some quick thoughts about last night's 9-6 Sox loss to Texas:
- If Alexi Ramirez's fly ball in the second inning would have blown out instead of go to the waring track, this may have been a different game.
- It may be time to have the discussion about Jose Contreras. The question becomes who do you have to replace him? Clayton Richard? He hasn't looked so good. Aaron Proeda? Not time yet. I hate to say this, but the guy who the Sox might consider bringing up if they had to DL Jose is...I have no freakin' clue.
- The games Jose is the worst in all start with rain delays. Perhaps he needs to change his stretching routine.
- The Rangers had five doubles in the fourth inning. That's a crap load of doubles. It's also like watching Chinese Water Torture if it's not your team.
- The Jermaine Dye hand injury was scary. He'll be okay (nothing broken) but I don't expect to see him playing tonight. Is Brett Lillibridge really the best answer i right field? Perhaps moving Q to right and Betemit to left might be a better option. Maybe Harold Baines still has some eligibility left.
- I'll admit, I only watched the game until the second rain delay. I had other things I wanted to watch, so I watched them instead.
- The box should read a win for Brandon McCarthy, a save for the weather man.
- Run wild and free my little friend. Take your strikeouts, weakly hit ground balls and spaghetti arm and find another home (like maybe Washington).
- I've got a man baseball crush on Ian Kinsler. Wow. What a player. Imagine what he'd do for a good team.
- It's Jon, Joe and Steve tonight with John Danks taking the hill.
