Meet the Staff

I'm Chip Ramsey a career broadcaster who has been a sports radio program director in Milwaukee and Nashville. I've covered everything from high school and college sports (including the SEC, Big Ten, MVC and OVC) to Major League Baseball, The NFL and the NHL. I have a few things to say, and when I want to say them, I say them here.

The good news for Jermaine Dye is that by beginning his two game suspension, he didn't have to participate in yet another White Sox debacle against a team they should be beating. Carl Pavano? Puh-Leese
Memo to Ozzie: Dude, it's time to go off, Being nice isn't going to cut it.
It's the Sox and Cleveland today on FOX. But just not in Wisconsin where the Phillies and Dodgers where the programming geniuses at Fox believe that they have more importance. You know, east and west coast teams with absolutely nothing to do with or little interest in the Midwest. And they wonder why nobody watches the game of the week anymore. I wonder if some former ESPN programmers have moved over to Fox.
I'm just guessing, but does anyone else see a wedge beginning to form between Kenny and Ozzie over The Savior?
If the Sox can't beat a last place team, imagine how lame they will look next weekend on the road against a first place team. Don't laugh. The Brewers are the Indians with better pitching.

Despite the resurgence in his sport, Gary Bettman refuses to acknowledge the obvious: ESPN was a better deal. Sadly, the NHL is in a position for the first time since the early eighties to deliver a hard kick to the groin of the NBA. Yet Bettman, as only Bettman can, continues to mishandle the puck. Here in a state where they haven't raised the beer tax since 1969, the football coach may be forced to take an unpaid leave to help balance the budget. Hey guys, I have a better idea. Instead of being $6.6 billion in the red and having to cut funding to schools, raise state fees, tax the crap out of cigarettes, tax industry to the point where they leave the state and otherwise screw average, hard working people in a state 9% unemployment.with why don't you vote Governor Jim Doyle out of office and replace him with someone who actually isn't a tax and spend guy. Speaking of states with no clue, does Tennessee realize that if their tax drives out the pro teams, the local communities lose millions in revenue? I wonder if a tax like this would hold up in court. (The Big Lead)
Anyway you slice it, this isn't good. Let's hope that Matt Forte has six good weeks of therapy and is ready to go in training camp. But hamstring injuries don't heal quickly and also can lead to other issues like knees, quads, etc. Then there is that phrase "nagging hamstring injury."
