Here's One Mans White Sox-Cubs Fantasy
Mother Nature obviously wanted to watch "Saving Grace" on TNT last night, so she washed out the Cubs-Sox game. Instead of a doubleheader today or tomorrow, the makeup of last night's postponement has not yet been announced.
Here's what would be cool: Imagine if it were game 162. And imagine each team needed to win to get into the playoffs. So, then, what you would have would be a winner take all game 162. That's rivalry. That's bragging rights. That would be the most talked about game in Chicago since game four of the 2005 world series.
Please make it so.

Lightning Round
Rainy days and Tuesdays lead to lots of media with little to do but come up with non stories. Newspapers and web sites still need content and that content doesn't create itself, even if there is a rain out. Besides, writers have to show something for making the trip to the ballpark. Take for example:- Reactions to the fact that a known cheater was a known cheater.
- The update on injured players. In the case of Carlos Quentin, it's the agony of de feet. Seriously, since he has a lot of time on his hands, he should go to court and get his middle name changed to either "oft injured" or "when he's healthy." The prophecy is beginning to ring true with him...he's a good player who may be plagued by injuries his entire career. Maybe that's why the D-Backs practically gave him away.
- The newest conspiracy theory? The Sox loving Obama administration leaked the news about Sammy Sosa on the eve of the Crosstown Classic to embarrass the Cubs. Yeah, like they have nothing else to so. (Can't Stop the Bleeding)
- Just in time for Father's Day---Your list of the 2010 type A free agents. Two names should leap off the page at you, Sox fans. (MLB Trade Rumors.com)
- Sox players get baited into ripping the north side beer garden/historical monument.
- The ongoing, media fueled discussion of whether the White Sox should be buyers or sellers even though at this point it is much too close to call.
- Writers interviewing broadcasters
- Coaches reactions to other coaches being fired
- Players who are benched reacting to why they are being benched.
- How two teams who share the same city but play only six common games know each other so well.
- Gordo, if it makes you feel any better, I like the Outfield too. In fact I played it as a hit the same year you were born. God, do i feel old right now. (Tremendous Upside Potential)
