Quickshots: White Sox Announce Two New Theme Nights
- The White Sox will be having 2005 Retro Night Tuesday night at U.S. Commiskey Park. That will be followed on Wednesday night by Old Timers Night.
- Eight is enough.
- There is an irony to tying Reggie Jackson on the all-time home run list while playing in Oakland. I think Buzz Lightyear will play until he hits at least 600, the last 32 or so coming for a team other than the White Sox.
- First it was Gordon Beckham. Then, it was Aaron Poreda. Now, meet the next big thing.
- Before Dusty Baker was hired as manager of the Cubs, Cub fans couldn't wait to bring him in. Four years later, they ran him out of town to be replaced by another guy they couldn't wait to get in, Lou Piniella. Now, the talk is Pinniella could be on the way out. Are you people crazy? (Rumors & Rants)
- Well, it's not quite beating up a coach or trying to beat up an umpire, but it does do your heart good to see some fan do something stupid across town. (Foul Balls)
- Here's a nice review of U.S. Commiskey Park. I love the part where it says it lacks a soul. (Bleacher Report)
- Being a radio guy, I found this absolutely hysterical (Rumors & Rants)
- Tracey Ringolsby remembers were men were men and pampered, overpaid ballplayers weren't pussies.
- Everything you wanted to know about the White Sox farm hands provided by Larry who even provides some links to other places to find out even more about White Sox farm hands. (South Side Sox)
- Outstanding ideas on improving the NHL network to get it up to the level of the MLB network. I still don't get NFL Network, so I have no idea what that's like (although Rich Eisen is an assclown)
- Here's another example of wasted tax payer money.
- Lookie whose back in the bigs!
- DO NOT get emotional about pre-season football. It means absolutely nothing until the third game and then it almost means nothing. All I've read this morning is how Cutler isn't ready and how he stunk and blah, blah, blah. For crying out loud people, it's a pre-season game.
- SEC football fans (especially Alabama fans) have got to be delighted with this development. Sometimes it is a good thing when the might fall. (Wiz of Odds)
