Help Me! I've Fallen And I Can't Get Up

Are you kidding me?  Here are the Chicago White Sox, three games before starting their most brutal road trip of the year and all they can muster is one run against Jeremy Guthrie?  The guy is 2-3 lifetime against the Sox with a 4.38 ERA,  How hard could this have been?

Then Pods gets picked off (again), the Sox can't string any hits together and in the eighth, Gavin Floyd runs out of gas and Matt Thornton and Tony Pena give up two two out runs.  Game over, 5-1 Baltimore.  Thanks for playing.  Oh, BTW, Detroit beat their last place opponent and now has a 3½ game lead.  A couple more games like these and the Sox might as well start flying the white flag or warming up Wynonna.

Today's free advice:
  1. Remove head from backside
  2. Play like the season depends on it (because it does)
I am starting to believe that there is a hidden arrogance on this team where they think they can turn it on and off when they want to.  Well, I've got news for you, it doesn't work like that.  The Sox  have forty more chances left and within the scope of that they'd  better hope and pray that Detroit makes good on four less of their chances than they do.  And the only way to insure that is to beat the teams you need to beat when you need to beat them.  Period.

Just out of curiosity, what frustrates you more: A team like 2007 that stunk and died in the middle of July or a team like this that should win this division but acts like it either doesn't want to or it is laying back in the weeds to make a big finish.  Comment below if you wish.
