Breakdown: Bears vs. Packers

I'm in a severe time crunch today, so bringing you a deeply detailed analysis just isn't in the cards.  That said, here's the lowdown from the wrong side of the cheese curtain.

I'm glad the Bears have Jay Cutler.  Hell, I'm glad the Bears have any besides Rex Grossman playing quarterback.  Unfortunately, Cutler will be like testing a nuclear weapon in water.  There will be big explosions but no one will hear them because he has nobody to throw to.  I guarantee Devin Hester will drop balls in traffic.  Greg Olsen is the answer, but if everyone in the stadium knows that's where you are going, it could prove a difficult task.

The Bears offensive savior tonight may be the run.  The Packers have a new -3-4 defense, but I doubt it will be without bugs.  I'm also not sold on all their linebackers, espcially NicK Barnnet who is sure to blow some coverages early on.  However, if the Pack can stuff Matt Forte, turn out the lights.

Defensively, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers gifted corps of receivers are the last thing the Bears defense wants to see.  The Bears secondary is pretty weak, and unless the Bears can get some pressure on Aaron Rodgers, it could be a long night for them.  Even with pressure, Rodgers is capable of taking off and turning nothing into something.  The kid is a pretty good quarterback.  Green bay's weakness on offense is their running game.  It's okay, but no where near the Bears or Vikings.

The key for the Bears tonight are both their lines.  Offensively, they have to open up some holes for Matt Forte and give Cutler time to throw.  Hester is perfectly capable of flying past aging defensive backs Al Harris and Charles Woodson, but he HAS to catch the ball when Cutler gets it to him.  Defensively, the Bears MUST contain Rodgers, Donald Driver and Greg Jennings.  This may prove to be too much for the Bears.

I think the Packers will simply provide too much offense for the Bears to overcome.  Maybe it's being wary of a Bears team that has some weakness in skill positions or maybe it's just the Stockholm syndrome talking but, I like Green Bay this week.

Final Packers 31 Bears 17.
