Forgive Me Father, For I Have Sinned: I Am Rooting For The Packers

I want to see the Green Bay Packers win today.  Those are ten words I never thought I would say.  But given all the options, rooting for the packers is a good thing because they are playing the Vikings and Benedict Favre.

It's been well documented.  He broke their hearts with his lying and cheating ways.  He waffled, went up when he said he was going down it wasn't that he left, it's how he left and the fact that he manipulated the system to sign with the Packers bitter rivals, the Vikings.

If you are Bear fan, you already have an almost psychotic hatred of Favre from his days as a Packer.  The things he did to the Bears over the years are unspeakable for most Bears fans.  Never being able to get to him, despite having some good defenses, is always a starting point of conversation.

I wish he would have faced the '85 group.  The site of Favre, laying on his back with Steve McMichael's knee in his throat makes me smile every time.

So, for today and today only, I hope the Packers ruin his homecoming.  I hope he is booed mercilessly,  I hope he is picked off multiple times by Al Harris and Charles Woodson.  I hope he is sacked more than groceries at Pic N' Save.  I hope he lays a brontosaurus sized egg.

Tomorrow it all goes back to normal, but for today, and only for today, I say "go Pack go!."

And now if you'll excuse me, I need to take a long, hot shower with plenty of soap.
