Butkus D. Dogg's Friday Fearless Forecast Week 10

Pinch me, I must be dreaming.  Ouch.  I was just kidding, Fat Dog.  7-3 last week thanks in part to underachieving USC and New York Giants teams.  But hey, I'm still on a roll at 60-25 for the year.

Let's get it on.  Five college, five pro, straight up.

College

Virginia vs. Miami: The Cavs have played well recently possibly extending the Al Groh era.  The Canes need to continue to win to improve their bowl seeding and should win this one in a yawn.  Take Miami.

Oregon vs. Stanford: The Ducks are coming off a huge win over USC and control their own destiny in the Pac 10.  The Cardinal is coached by the emotional Jim Harbaugh who is known to get his team up for really big games.  This game is definitely a Duck trap.  At the risk of losing my neck, I smell upset.  Take Stanford for the upset.

Ohio State vs. Penn State: In a game that should have been for all the marbles in the Big Ten, it's a two loss team vs a one loss team in a battle to see who will finish behind Iowa.  Penn State still has an outside chance in the Big Ten, provided Iowa loses two of their remaining games.  Otherwise, these two teams are playing for the right to the Capitol One Bowl.  Ohio State is way too unpredictable on offense for me to pick here.  Take Penn State.

Wake Forest vs. Georgia Tech:  The Jackets are in control of their own destiny in the ACC while Wake has struggled at 4-5.  Take Georgia Tech.

LSU vs. Alabama: This is THE huge game of the day, no question.  The winner will most likely win the SEC West and play Florida for the SEC championship and a possible BCS championship game birth.  The loser gets to play in the Capitol One Bowl.  Both teams have great defenses and under performing offenses, so look for a low scoring game.  The key to the game is whether or not Julio Jones shows up and how much pressure each team can put on the others quarterback. Both Jordan Jefferson for LSU and Greg McElroy for Alabama are known to make mistakes under pressure.  In the final analysis, this is where the home field counts for something.  Take Alabama in a nail biter.

Pro

Arizona vs. Chicago: It doesn't matter that the Bears have Jay Cutler.  Jay Cutler can only play quarterback and do so much.  Until the Bears offensive live, receivers and defensive line decide to show up, the Bears should be thankful that the Lions are in their division so they are guaranteed of finishing third. Not to mention Deven Hester has an ankle sprain. Take Arizona.

Green Bay vs. Tampa Bay:  Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers could be in traction and still beat the Bucs.  Take Green Bay

Detroit vs. Seattle: The Hawks are a week removed from having their butts kicked by Dallas while the Lions lost to St. Louis.  This is the kind of game that makes you go blind if you stare directly at it.  Take Seattle.

San Diego vs. New York Giants: The Giants have lost two successive key games.  That makes Tom Coughlin grumpy.  Tom Coughlin is the last person you want to be around when he's grumpy because he'll make you as miserable as he is.  If the Giants lose this week, it could be the beginning of something really bad.  Take New York.

Dallas vs. Philly: This is an excellent Sunday night matchup.  Dallas is coming in on a roll, but the Eagles have been playing terrific football since Donovan McNabb returned to their lineup.  While the Boys are good, I think the Birds are just a little better, especially in when the game is being played at the home of Pat's and Gino's.  Take Philly.
