Mother Nature Screws Wisconsin Bears Fans

Thanks to a snow storm that will dump anywhere from twenty to thirty inches (that's two and a half feet for those of you in Cudahy) the start time of the Bears-Ravens game Sunday has been moved from noon to three fifteen.

For those of you living in the Chicago area, this is no big deal. You'll still get to see the game, even if gets moved to Tuesday afternoon.  For those of us living behind the cheese curtain, it presents a problem.  Because the game now starts at 3:15, the game will not be shown in Wisconsin because of the Packers-Steelers game which also starts at 3:15.

Obviously, I don't begrudge the locals the opportunity and their God given right to watch their team play, but I am a little ticked off that in a week where both could have been viewed in Wisconsin, I will not get to watch the Bears. And yes kids, in my world, it begins and ends with me.

Anyone who knows me understands that  I would rather be tied to a chair and forced to watch Oprah interview Dr. Phil, Sandra Lee and Katherine Heigl than have to sit through a Packers game if they are not playing the Bears.  As they say down south "You ain't from here!"

Some might consider this God's way of saving me from high blood pressure, a stroke or a grabber. Other might consider this God's way of encouraging me to move back to the other side of the cheese curtain.

Do they not have snow plows in Baltimore?  Do they not have a snow removal plan?  Two and a half feet in Chicago is no big deal, O'Hare could deal with it and so could all of the snow removal teams.  We may not have a great football team, but when it comes to moving snow, we can play with the big boys.

In any case, I think I'll clean the garage tomorrow and listen on WBBM.
