Butkus D. Dogg's Friday Fearless Forecast (Christmas Eve Edition) Week 17
I wanted to make sure that we had this posted before Santa came tonight. I hope he is quiet or the fat dog may think he's a burgler and bite him. This would seriously cut down on my Christmas joy. I'm hoping to get a new pee post.I went 3-2 last week, but given the fact that one of the losses resulted in Brett Favre making an ass of himself on national TV, I'm okay with it. Besides, I'm at 99-45 on the year, so that's still pretty good.
Five pro games, straight up, making your days merry and bright:
Seattle vs. Green Bay: This used to be interesting when the Walrus was the coach of the Seahawks, but now it's just downright boring. The Packers are coming off a tough loss to Pittsburgh and should put a hurting on Seattle which is limping to the finish line. Besides, the Seahawks are 1-6 on the road and Lambeau Field is as tough a place to play on the road as any stadium in the NFL. Take Green Bay
Baltimore vs. Pittsburgh: This should be your good old fashioned smash mouth game. The Ravens could get one step closer to the playoffs with a win and the Steelers could back in with wins in their last two games. In this case, a wounded animal can be very dangerous. Take Pittsburgh.
Detroit vs. San Francisco: The Lions are just trying to get this over with while the Niners, who will miss the playoffs again this year would like a strong finish as a bridge to next year. Without Matt Stafford, I don't think the Lions could beat Middle Tennessee State. Take San Francisco.
Dallas vs. Washington: Dallas wants to return to the playoffs. Do you think the dysfunctional Redskins will stop them? Vinnie is out, Zorn is packing his bags and the midget is trying to hire Mike Shanahan. Take Dallas
Chicago vs. Minnesota: It is entirely possible that the Bears could rally and win one for Lovie Smith, showing America that they have not laid down like most fans and media think they have. It is entirely possible that their defense could get to Brett Favre forcing him to throw a couple of interceptions which result in some points off turn overs. It is entirely possible that Minnesota may be in a bad place mentally with the Sunday night loss to Carolina and the bad pub on the war between Favre and Brad Childress. It may be entirely possible that the cold weather in Chicago may hurt the indoor Vikings. It may also be entirely possible that I will sprout wings and fly to Florida for winter. Take Minnesota BIG.
