Sorry Charlie, You Should Have Been Yanked

Here's something I need a little help understanding.

Tiger Woods cheats on his wife with several women.  His commercials are immediately pulled, his endorsements immediately dry up and he is the butt of just about every joke their is.

Meanwhile, although accused of assaulting his wife with a weapon, Haines continued to run commercials with Charlie Sheen in them.  There were also stations that continued to run Charlie Sheen PSAs.

There are also stories alcohol was involved.  Sheen is a recovering addict.

I have nothing against Charlie Sheen, I'm just pointing out that what he did, if true, was very wrong.  What Tiger did was wrong too, but outside of property damage, is not a crime.  Are you telling me that there is not one broadcast executive who could have made a phone call and pulled the commercials?  Are we so desperate for money in our business that we can't pull commercials in a situation like this?  Are all of the marketing people from Haines and their ad agency so wrapped up in teir Christmas plans they couldn't pick up a phone and order the spots pulled?

Are we sending a message that philandering is more of a crime that domestic violence?
