The Wheels On The Bus Go Round And Round

It won't be official until 2pm this afternoon, but the Daily Herald reports the obvious: Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner and tight ends coach Rob Boras are already under the bus. Quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton and offensive line coach Harry Hiestand are currently standing in the road waiting for the bus to come around and take them out.
The Daily Herald also reports that Lovie Smith BFF Rod Marinelli will be promoted to defensive coordinator replacing Lovie. Lovie's other BFF, Bob Babich, will be reduced a few pay grades to linebackers coach.
As far as Turner is concerned, I was surprised when the bears hired him back after his lack of success under Stuttering Dave. I was never a big fan of his then and I am less of one now.
While few sources are talking about who will replace Turner, Bears fans are praying it is not Mike Martz. Martz was totally unsuccessful in both Detroit and San Francisco and is a good friend of Lovie's from when Lovie was the D-Corr for the Rams. If you want to know who the Bears might bring in, please study the early 2000's staffs of Tampa Bay and St. Louis for clues.
It is obvious too that Lovie is being told that he gets one more crack at the playoffs and that anything less than that is unacceptable. In other words, if the new coaches can't move this team forward in 2010, someone else will run it in 2011. Maybe hiring Martz isn't such a bad idea after all.
