ESPN Plays Chicken****
Unbelievable. Barry Melrose didn't know he was on the air and when he was asked about what kind of face cream he used (or something like) and he responded "chicken shit."
ESPN immediately went into panic mode and even apologized for this. They actually said "Barry used an inappropriate word and we apologize to anyone it may have offended."
Just who gets offended by the phrase "chicken shit?" I mean, seriously. Chickens? Horses because Barry chose the chicken's fecal material over theirs? Bulls for the same reason?
ESPN is on cable which is not policed by the FCC, so there is no harm no foul except for maybe those radical right wing Christian wackos that want to boycott Disney because Barry said a swear. Hell, the stuff they do on "Family Guy" is rougher than that.
And as far as the phrase "inappropriate word", that's more like language used by Rham Emanuel. or Don Imus. Chicken shit is appropriate for any occasion, from describing someone with no guts to what you have to make chicken salad out of.
We're so PC these days, we over react because we think chickens are sensitive. ESPN should have just moved on. Barry talks about hockey anyway, so it's not like he was on in a high traffic time anyway. We all know how ESPN feels about hockey ("you are dead to us.")
I guess ESPN now gets the "what did Barry say?" news cycle which draws attention to them, especially since the Olympics are going on.

Technically it's a phrase not a word.
Wow. Good point about Family Guy, or about 5 other shows that have me shaking my head.
PC, PC, PC.
