White Sox Surge Impresses Almost Everyone
11 in a row. 15 out of 17. Tied for second with Detroit, 1½ games behind Minnesota. Three weeks ago, the Chicago White Sox were given up for dead by (almost) everyone, the fans, the media, the experts and yet here we are. However, as I am finding, there are some people out there who are never satisfied.I heard a guy on the WSCR pre-game show yesterday call in and make some comments that were so stupid, I don't know how he can function normally.. "You wait until the Sox are done with the National League teams", the genius opined "When they go back to the American League they can't beat anyone because Greg Walker is such a bad hitting coach."
Fortunately for humanity, Ranger Rongy cut the guy off.
In examining his statement, you can blow a lot of holes in his argument. The first is, this whole streak started with two wins against Detroit. The second is the Sox held their ground against Stephen Strassburg, sending him away with a an ND. Third, if you are going to blame Greg Walker for the earlier part of the season, you need to give him credit now. The same for Don Cooper. And finally, if your team has won ten straight (prior to last night's 3-2 win) you have absolutely nothing to complain about.
This is one of those Sox fans that needs to have his team gear set ablaze on his front lawn in front of his neighbors and family.
It really bothers me that people like this exist, let alone some of the claim to be Sox fans. If you are a Sox fan and you have anything to complain about now, just look across the field at this weekend's opponent. Now, there are fans that have plenty to bitch about.
