Quickshots: LeBronathon Finally Comes To An End
- I am so glad this LeBron crap is over and we can all get back to our lives. Actually, I never left mine. I didn't watch it at all because I refused to participate in a celebration of one man's ego and a network's attempt to enable it. I still cannot believe that one athlete, who has done absolutely nothing, warrants this kind of attention. Even this monring on MSNBC on the 4am show "First Look" it was "the oil spill continues, Russian spies kicked out of the US, but first, LeBron James chooses Miami." Are you are proud of this reality show, instant rock star society we live in. I'm sure not.
- LeBron is a lot of things, but Michael ain't one of them. (The Big Lead)
- Glad to see Cleveland's owner took it well . Actually, I don't blame the guy. His season ticket base is gone. (The Hot Glove)
- Danny Mac says now that LeBron isn't coming to Chicago, the talk turns to the Cubs .
- With Jake Peavy out, what will Kenny Williams do ? I still don't think they need pitching help and would be better served looking for one more small piece. In 2005, Geoff Blum and Carl Everett both helped out down the stretch. They were small pieces of the puzzle that came up big, especially in game three of the World Series.
- Personally, I think the Cliff Lee rumors amount to this: "Hi Jack, Ken Williams in Chicago. Just out of curiosity, what are you looking for to acquire Cliff Lee? Uh huh. Both nuts, huh? Hey, Jack, I hear Ozzie swearing in the hallway, so I gotta run, thanks."
- I love how Tom Ricketts talks about the Cubs ownership like it's the Cosa Nostra. Maybe he should fire Jim Hendry and replace him with Tony Soprano. (MLB Trade Rumors.com)
- John Danks complete game yesterday washes out Jake Peavy's 2 inning start Tuesday night, thus giving the White Sox pen some rest See, someone is looking out for this team. (Can't Stop The Bleeding)
- I guess you can't get enough Byfuglin .
