You gotta love Jim Gray.  Not satisfied with being run off at several networks, he's at it again this time threatening Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin .

Gray was annoyed that his earlier report that Pavin would automatically add the struggling Eldrick Woods to the Ryder Cup team was denied by Pavin, who claims he was misquoted.

In a heated exchange, Gray, thrust a finger in Pavin's chest and said "You're going down."

I get that reporters misquote people or people deny or back down from something they said, but when was the last time you heard a reporter threaten an athlete and loudly announce to everyone in the room that he will get the guy.  There's only one other guy I know of with the nads to pull something like that and his name is Jay Mariotti. And of course, we all know how popular he is.

What exactly is Gray going to do to Pavin to take him down?  Uncover footage he moved his ball in the rough?  Have his putter measured?  Look for extra clubs in his bag?  Announce loudly to the gallery at Whistling Straits in Koehler, WI that Pavin hates both brats and cheese?  It's okay to talk the talk Jim, but good luck walking the walk.

Good thing Corey Pavin is a golfer.  Imagine if Gray would have tried bit that on his BFF LeBron James.  He would have looked like Wile E. Coyote AFTER the Roadrunner booted him off the cliff.
