It's Showtime!
Getting ready for the Bears and Packers this afternoon with the Hawks game on. I don't watch or listen to pre-game shows as I have my own thoughts and opinions about what's going to happen. Here they are:
- On defense, the Bears don't need to stop Aaron Rodgers as much as they need to contain him. Pressure him, but cut off the running lanes so he can't escape. And for God's sake, wrap him up because he is slippery.
- Even if the playing surface is in good shape, it is still in the Packers heads. That may preclude them from doing some things that they need to do.
- Special teams are key. The Bears need to have a good day to win the field position battle. Then again, the Packers are not a team that worries about field position.
- Offensively, the Bears need to use Matt Forte and Greg Olsen a lot. They will see a lot of Clay Matthews and Charles Woodson in the backfield, but you can counter that if you can shake lose a running back or a tight end.
- The Bears need to watch the weakside run. The Packers have used the weakside run a lot against them, so it is important that the y plug the gaps, shed the blocks and foul the Packers running attack.
- Jay Cutler needs to relax and play HIS game.
- Even if Chris Harris is healthy enough to play, he's still not 100% and that is an issue. A big issue. Watch Aaron Rodgers take advantage of Major Wright every chance he gets. I'm not saying Major is a bad player, I'm just saying he is not Chris Harris and everyone knows it.
- The Bears will have a much easier time controlling the clock than the Packers. But the Packers offense has a better chance of quick, big plays.
- How many minutes into the broadcast until Troy Aikman goes down on Aaron Rodgers again? I'm guessing plus or minus thirty seconds and I'm taking the under. Troy, we know you hate the Bears, it is obvious everytime you do a Bears game, but your man love for Aaron Rodgers is annoying and perhaps in need of a restraining order.
- It's all been said, it's all be rehashed. The time is upon us. Good luck and may the best team win. May that team be the Bears.
