Butkus D. Dogg's Friday Fearless Forecast (Big Game Edition)

Well, here we are at the end of the line again.  I ran the table for the conference championships raining my record to 133-66.  I did pretty good for a fourteen pound poo dog.

As this is our last prediction of the season, I want to thank the bald guy for all his help.  It's really hard to type these deals without opposable thumbs.  I'd also like to thank you for coming back each week and reading what I had to say.  And if you didn't come back every week, I'm sending the fat dog over to your house to clean out your leftovers and soil your carpet.

I hope you have a nice spring and summer. I'll be spending mine under the coffee table, dodging the projectiles the bald guy throws when the White Sox tick him off.

Here we go kids, my official big game prediction:

  • Green Bay vs. Pittsburgh:  While it is hard to be objective about this game with a name like Butkus, I am going to try.  These two teams are evenly matched in all areas but two.  And it may be those two that make the difference.  Green Bay is not very good on special teams (although they have a very good punter) and has an average running game. Pittsburgh has an excellent running game, which I think is your deal breaker.  If Pittsburgh can control the time of possession and wear down the Green bay defense they will win a close game.  Both these teams are equal in terms of the quarterbacks, the receivers and the lines, although Pittsburgh is hurting a bit on their offensive line.  But I think their running game will win the day and win Big Ben his third ring.  I also think that this game will not live up to the hype and Pittsburgh may win by ten or more. Take Pittsburgh.
