Floyd Flails, Sox Succumb

I give White Sox Ozzie Guillen credit for a lot of the good things that happen with the White Sox.  His ability to get his players to play for him, his deft managing of the bullpen make him one of the better managers in baseball these days.  If Ozzie has a weakness, it is sometimes giving his starting pitchers too much rope.

Yes, I know that the Cubs aren't the Twins or the Tigers, but last night, it was clear to just about everyone that Sox starter Pink Gavin Floyd had exhausted his arsenal by the fifth inning. Rather then letting Floyd off the hook with a lead, Ozzie allowed him to pitch the sixth where he was promptly hammered by the Cubs to the tune of four runs and an eventual 6-3 Cubs win.

The loss dropped the Sox back to four games below .500, but fortunately they are still only 5½ games behind Cleveland in the divisional race.  The Sox desperately need to beat up on the Cubs and Washington to get back to .500 by the end of the week and now must win five of their next six to do so.
